BiographyCat RobertsLocal Watercolor ArtistArt has always been part of my life, one way or another. In 1992, I picked up a brush and painted my first watercolor. Once I discovered the magic in watercolors, it became my main artistic focus and continues to fascinate. It takes me places I never dreamed of going, and being more focused on art makes everything around me seem more alive and vibrant. My ongoing hobby of photography and travel has greatly supported my painting and has also grown in the process. | ![]() |

Six years ago, after retiring from the business world, I began more seriously focusing on my art, attending my first art show in the summer of 2005. Mostly self-taught, I´ve taken several local watercolor workshops, and in the spring of 2006 I attended a week-long landscape painting class at the Scottsdale Artists´ School. As well as expanding my horizons, that particular class exposed me to some essential processes and methods that changed how I think about watercolor painting! And in 2008, I attended a watercolor mixed-media workshop that has taken me in new and exciting directions with watercolor and more! Check out some of my new mixed media pieces. My style ranges from fast and impressionistic to very detailed, according to the subject and the mood, always utilizing vibrant colors. I have my own unique style, which continues to evolve. Recently, I have been experimenting with mixed-media including tissue paper, pastels and watercolor, creating unique and interesting landscapes and abstracts. |
